Does your dog take a little longer to get up after a nap? Hesitate before jumping onto the sofa? Walk a little less enthusiastically than they used to?

Maybe you have noticed that they're not quite as playful, struggle with the stairs or seem stiffer after resting.

These are just some of the signs of slowing down and it's very easy to put these changes down to old age, but your dog getting older doesn't mean that they have to miss out on the things that they love💙

Sometimes, these changes can be signs of joint pain, reduced muscle strength or other conditions that deserve attention

How can physiotherapy help the older dog?

Depending on your dog's individual needs, physiotherapy can help:

🐾 Reduce pain

🐾 Maintain strength & muscle function

🐾 Support mobility & flexibility

🐾 Help them stay comfortable & enjoy their favourite activities

🐾 Improve confidence with everyday movements

Your dog may be getting older, however there is still plenty that we can do to support their quality of life✨

You don't have to wait until your dog has a major injury or struggles with walking before seeking advice

Every dog is different, and the first step is understanding what's happening and what might help them.

New or worsening changes in movement should be discussed with your vets🩺

Let's help our golden oldies to enjoy their golden years!🩵
